With love and thanks for your continuing support and interest in the work of Deva and Miten,

Dakshina, Deva's fastest selling CD ever, is featured on Walkout, a new HBO film by director Edward James Olmos. The film is based on the true story of a group of Chicano students who staged a compelling 1968 walkout to protest the injustices of the public high-school system in East Los Angeles, and uses the haunting Om Hraum Mitraya over the final scenes. Deva and Miten began their World Tour in Australia, with concerts to packed houses in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Byron Bay. It was their first major tour in Australia, and they thank everyone for such a loving and warm welcome. An expanded tour of more cities down under is already being planned for 2007.
They were joined in Australia by Nepalese bansuri flute maestro Manose, who will also be with them for much of the rest of the tour. Jai Radha Madhav, recorded live during the Byron Bay concert, and featuring Manose on flute, is available online as a free download.
Deva and Miten will be taking the Yoga of Sacred Song & Chant to more countries and venues than ever this year - see the Events Schedule online for full details. Some of the many special offerings include:
A first ever concert at the National Theater in San José, the capital of Costa Rica, sponsored by Costa Rica National Radio (April 28). Built in the 1890's by coffee barons after a popular Italian opera star refused to appear in San José because there was no proper theater, this architectural showpiece is much beloved by Costa Ricans.
In response to numerous requests, Deva and Miten are returning to Scandinavia this year, with concerts in Oslo (May 16), Copenhagen (May 18) and Stockholm (May 21).
The event Songs & Stories Of My Life With Osho, will be offered by Miten as part of the Osho Uta Festival, celebrating its 25th anniversary (May 26), and at the Rainbow-Spirit Festival in Baden-Baden (June 5). The Rainbow-Spirit Festival attracts thousands of participants and a host of leading inspirational speakers and musicians from around the world. This year the town theatre has been hired for Deva & Miten's concert (June 3) due to overcrowding at their last appearance at the festival.
Deva and Miten will perform two concerts at London's beautiful Shaw Theatre on June 10: Matinee (3 pm) and Evening concert (7:30 pm). These concerts will be their only U.K appearance this year, along with a Sacred Chant event on June 11 at TriYoga.
Many weekend retreats and yoga conferences have been added to the schedule in the US, offering the possibility of a longer immersion into the realms of song and silence:
Om Hraum Mitraya Namaha
May the light of friendship shine through me, drawing noble companionship.
Om Eim Saraswatiyei Namaha
Om and Salutations to the feminine Saraswati principle.
"This is a tribute to noble friendship. I bow to Saraswati, the goddess of music, art and divine speech. It is through her divine, feminine grace that the mantras gain their strength and power. She brings us together, through music and chant, to create a sacred sangha of friendship and respect. I feel we are all weaving a web of mantra and devotion around the planet - an understanding that we are one community, one family. 'One Love, One Heart' as Bob Marley says."
