NEW! Tantra-Mantra (A Special Group for Loving Couples) in Mexico
maya tulum resortDeva and Miten will offer a Tantra-Mantra retreat at the world renowned Maya Tulum Wellness Resort on the beautiful Yucatan peninsula of Mexico from December 1-8, 2007.

Nestled between the Caribbean and the lush jungles of the 1.3 million acre Sian Kaan Biosphere Reserve, Maya Tulum has been named one of the top ten vacation resorts in the world by both Forbes and Health & Leisure magazines. It offers seaside accommodations in beach cabanas, barrier reef snorkelling, and trips to nearby ancient Mayan ruins. They will be joined once again by Rafia, their long-time friend and co-facilitator of the Tantra-Mantra events in Corfu for the past eight years. Read more about this special opportunity on the website. Click here if you would like to be informed when booking opens.

Video Clips Online Now
Two video clips of Deva and Miten in concert have been added to the flash player at their website, and are also available at their MySpace page, Google video and YouTube. The first clip is of the Gayatri Mantra from the Live In Byron Bay DVD and the newest addition features them rockin’ the house with You Gotta Move in Amsterdam last year.

The clip includes surprise (!!) solos by friends Praful on saxophone, Maneesh de Moor on keyboards, and Rainer Scheurenbrand on mandoline, and of course Manose. Enjoy and share with friends!

A Message From Miten
Namaste friends,

For some time now, Deva and I have been on the lookout for a beautiful ocean resort where we could take you, in December, for a sunny ‘Tantra-Mantra’ retreat. We found it in Mexico, at the Maya Tulum Beach Resort. Take a look - it’s the perfect location to enjoy a sacred tantric/mantric beach vacation and leave behind those cold winter days. This group will be for couples only, but we do plan to offer ‘Celebrating the Mystery’ there as well, sometime in the future.

deva&miten and manoseOur 2007 Summer tour schedule is now finalised and we humbly - and joyfully - announce that Manose, our beloved bansuri Krishna from Kathmandu will be travelling and performing with us again this year. How good is that?! We’ve added the beautiful and historical European cities of Prague, Vienna, Chemnitz, Berlin, and Munich to our schedule, and we look forward to meeting you all again as we pass through. (USA fall tour dates will be posted soon.)

Someone recently asked Deva how she felt about having so many “fans.” Her reply made me smile: “No fans, just friends” - and that’s truly how it feels. As we look out from the stage, we see only friends - and that’s what keeps us going. If you guys were just ‘fans’ we would’ve stopped touring long ago. Your love is our nourishment.

Thanks for your response to our ‘vegetarian’ newsletter- it’s a loaded subject for sure. We wish you all happy and healthy eating.

deva flyin' highMain news this end is that we have just completed Deva’s new album, The Moola Mantra. Produced in San Francisco by Ben Leinbach, it weighs in at over 50 minutes of non-stop Deva/mantra. She’s been waiting for the right mantra to dive into and explore at length, and the Moola Mantra has proved to be the perfect piece.

It is a salutation to the Divine as the supreme Creator, as manifested in the avatars and spiritual guides, and an honouring of the inner light which shines in every living being. It also celebrates the dance of female/male energy as it merges into Oneness.

We’re more than thrilled with the album – it has grown into an exotic musical journey, like that of a sacred river meandering through the Indian landscape. The music flows from tabla maestro Debopriyo Sarkar to Manose (bansuri), to Jai Uttal (dotar), Kit Walker (grand piano), Benjy Wertheimer (esraj), Peter van Gelder (sitar), Moses Sedler (cello) to a string quartet, and eventually ends in an ocean of silence.

Our prayer is that it deepens your meditation and brings you joy and peace. We have it set for a June release.

And finally, a few words from Osho:

“When thousands and thousands of people around the earth are celebrating, singing, dancing, ecstatic, drunk with the divine, there is no possibility of any global suicide.

celebration of life“With such festivity and with such laughter, with such sanity and health, with such naturalness and spontaneity, how can there be a war?...

“Life has been given to you to create, and to rejoice, and to celebrate. When you cry and weep, when you are miserable, you are alone.

“When you celebrate, the whole existence participates with you. Only in celebration do we meet the ultimate, the eternal. Only in celebration do we go beyond the circle of birth and death.”

See you all soon!
With love, from us both
Miten
