NEW CD! Deva Premal sings The Moola Mantra
moola mantraOver one year in the making, the album features an extended presentation of the powerful Moola Mantra, which was received by Deva & Miten during a meditation retreat at the Oneness University in Chennai, India.

The Moola Mantra meanders like a sacred river through a lush landscape of sitars, bansuri, dotar, grand piano, tablas, cello and string quartet, with Deva's golden voice leading the way, flowing finally into an ocean of silence. It honours all spiritual paths, religions, creeds and traditions, and celebrates the divine light in every living being.

Tantra-Mantra in Mexico
The new Tantra-Mantra group scheduled for December 1-8 at the Maya Tulum Wellness Resort near Cancun, Mexico is filling quickly, so early booking is recommended. Details about the group and booking forms are available online.
A Message From Miten
Hi friends – love and greetings.

fiji I’m writing this from a beach house on the beautiful island of Savusavu, one of Fiji’s jewels. We’ve just spent what amounts to one very special week here at the Namale Resort in the presence of Sri Amma and Bhagavan , who were invited by Sage and Tony Robbins to facilitate a ‘oneness’ gathering for world religious leaders, and Tony’s friends and associates.

Music sure takes you into some pretty interesting situations! If this gathering is a reflection of what’s happening in the world at large, one thing is very apparent; people are beginning to open to spirit in new ways, and religious boundaries are being dissolved through love, acceptance, and understanding. It seems that ‘achievers’ are realising that success and power don’t amount to much without some kind of spiritual support and sustenance. We were honoured to be part of the group, and to be able to participate by sharing our music was a real gift, especially as most people had never heard us before.

We watched oneness filter through into the hearts of some pretty powerful ‘movers and shakers’ in worldly (and religious) terms, and we saw them open their hearts and minds to an expanded reality...really very inspiring and beautiful.

baden baden concert hallBefore arriving in Fiji we had a great weekend at the Rainbow Spirit Festival in Baden-Baden, Germany. Once again, we noticed an increase in the number of participants in attendance. Some people say it is in danger of becoming too commercial, but I’m not so sure – I feel we have to open to more and more people as they find their way into this new dimension of spirituality. Hari Om! The world is turning on!!

satgyan, chintan, miten&deva, peter makena, prem joshuajoshuaWe were reunited with some old Osho devotees who we hadn’t had the pleasure of meeting for some time – it’s always a whirlwind when we meet, but still, it was great to have ‘five minutes’ with Michael Barnett, once known as Somendra, Veeresh and his Humaniversity team, Prem Joshua, Chintan, and our old Japanese band mate from Poona and Ah This! days, bass player, Satgyan...all sharing their love of Osho in their own unique way.

We also saw the birth of Deva’s new CD, The Moola Mantra. We are very happy to have at last recorded an extended mantra. I hope it enhances your meditation, as it does ours. We want to send out a special thanks to Ben Leinbach for taking on the daunting task of producing this album...it’s no easy feat to create a piece of music 40 minutes in duration! Thanks Ben!

deva&mitenAnd to cap what has already been an incredibly productive year, we will soon be releasing the Soul In Wonder album. Those of you who know us, will be aware that this baby has been keeping us waiting for a long time. I’m happy (and relieved) to say, it is at last complete and ready to fly....pun intended, because it does include a beautiful version of Anubhava’s (Peter Makena) 'Fly high let the earth touch the sky’' anthem. Also on the record is Calma e Tranquilidade, which we learned from Brazilian shaman, Carioca, Van Morison’s Inarticulate Speech of The Heart and the concert regular, You Gotta Move – amen to that! As for the home grown trax, you’ll find Through The Eyes of An Angel, Mother Inside, Humaniversal and Ashes To Ashes, to name but a few.

While reading a beautiful book on Mozart (Mozart’s Women by Jane Glover) we found this great quote from the maestro. We thought it would be nice to share it with you.

See you all soon!
With love, from us both
Miten

Letter from W. A. Mozart (31 years old) to his father:
“I have now made a habit of being prepared in all affairs of life for the worst. As death, when we come to consider it closely, is the true goal of our existence, I have formed during the last few years such close relations with this best and truest friend of mankind, that his image is no longer terrifying for me, but is indeed very soothing and consoling! And I thank God for graciously granting me the opportunity of learning that death is the key which unlocks the door to true happiness. I never lie down at night without reflecting that, young as I am, I may not live to see another day. Yet no one of all my acquaintance could say that in company I am morose or disgruntled. For this blessing I daily thank my Creator and wish with all my heart that each one of my fellow-creatures could enjoy it.”
