| Hi Friends.
We are almost at the end of our two months tour here in America. Right now, as I write this, we are on the plane between Los Angeles, where we played last night (Yoga Works, Santa Monica), and Boston, where we play tomorrow night, (The Kripalu Yoga Center).
This tour has been so nourishing, full-on, exciting and inspiring. Almost all the places we played were sold out! Miten and I have been welcomed with such love and warmth. Thank you!
It always feels like we continually meet you all as old friends, even though our connection is mainly through the CD's. We have become a part of each others lives, and this gift we give each other, this coming together in Sacred Space, is the most precious thing in my life.
Often I lie in bed at night after a concert, and find myself overwhelmed by a feeling of such deep gratitude. To be doing what I love doing most, and to be able to share it all with my beloved friend...and as he sings: "Who could ask for more...?!"
Along the way we were blessed to meet some remarkable people...Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, who welcomed us again to her home in the desert, where we sang at her bedside. Faisal Muqaddim, the Sufi mystic and beloved teacher. Donald Epstein, the creator of the Network Chiropractor system, who graciously brought his massage table to our concert in Boulder and fixed us up after the gig. Warren Barigian, our friend and voice healer. Peter and Aneeta Makena, who have been an inspiration to us from the very start.
Robert Gass, Chantmaster supreme who, with his wife Judith welcomed us to their house in Boulder, Colorado and played us some of their beautiful new music...and so many more.... We had the great pleasure of playing with Kit Walker, Marquinho Brasil, and Ravi, at our two concerts at The Open Secret in San Rafael. Another high-light was the presence of RajRishi and Paul White at the mixing desk. Rishi, flew from Denmark especially to co-ordinate the live recording. (Rishi produced The Essence, and Paul mixed Love is Space).
We also had the honour of playing for Margot Anands tantric gathering at Harbin Hot Springs...wow!...That was an evening we won't forget. To be playing music for people in such sensual and intimate structures was amazing. It gave another dimension to the songs and mantras Thank you, Margot!
As we return to Europe, we find ourselves at a crossroads on our journey. We now have to make new decisions on how to continue to help this flower to grow. As more people come to see us, we have to look for bigger venues to accomodate them. Often the rooms in which we play are bursting at the seams. A sign that it is time to move on to small theatres.
That's our plan, and Paritosho, our tour organiser, is already in the process of scheduling our next American tour (June, October and November 2002) with this in mind.
Actually, we will be back in U.S.A in November this year, for the South West Yoga Conference, in Palm Springs, California.
Meanwhile, we continue on our way in Europe, looking foward to our time at The Rainbow Spirit Festival in Baden-Baden, Germany, and our trip up to Scandinavia, where we pass through Hamburg, Copenhagen, Stockholm, and eventually to the No-Mind Festival, in Angsbacka, Sweden. See you there!
Once again thank you all for coming and sharing those magical times with us!
With love,
Deva
ps. We are happy to announce that we will be in England again, in July 2002. at The Ko Hsuan Festival. Miten is already looking foward to 'going home.'
It's been so long since he was in England! We will probably adding to that schedule, so look out for up-coming dates.
pps. Just one more thing. I have to mention our evening at the Kripalu Yoga Center, and to thank the organisers for our stay there. Such a warm welcome, and the space created during our concert was beyond words. Thank you! |
